MATH
Concepts from Unit 7 next week will include:
*Exponential Notation
*Powers of Ten
*Scientific Notation
*Parentheses in Number Sentences

READING
Next week, students will continue working to improve their literary discussions with their reading partners.

Learning how to have an effective discussion about a book teaches your child good communication skills, aides in comprehension, and instills further appreciation of literature.

WRITING

Next week students will start revisions on their rough drafts of their research reports. Please monitor your child's progress by referring to the dark pink calendar your child should have in his/her homework binder. If they seem like they are falling behind, they may have to complete some of the research at home. (Please do not allow them to get too far ahead, however.)

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES

Concepts in science this week:
*Testing the effects of air resistance on a vehicle’s motion
*Building a propeller –driven vehicle

The Unit Test is 3/8. We will have a review on Friday, 3/5. If you would like to start reviewing with your child before that time, consult with your child about bringing home their science binder. They can start reviewing the questions in the green packet as well as the notes they’ve taken in their notebook.
