Concepts from Unit 8 next this will include:

READING
Next week in reading, we will begin a new genre study, Tall Tales. Students will learn about the characteristics of a Tall Tale including hyperboles (exaggerations), humor, and historical fiction. We will read several Tall Tales together as a class while analyzing the presence of these traits that are common across all tall tales. Students will then have an opportunity to choose other tall tales to read independently.
WRITING
Next week, students will work on paragraphing to improve their writing during writers' workshop.
