READING
Last week, in reading, students seemed to be enjoying our genre study, Tall Tales. This week, we will continue to recognize the characteristics of a Tall Tale including hyperboles (exaggerations), humor, and historical fiction. Students will then have an opportunity to choose other tall tales to read independently this week, and analyze how they follow the patterns that are characteristic of all Tall Tales.
WRITING
This week, students will use what they've learned through reading the tall tales to create their own tall tale story.
SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES
This week's concepts will include:
*Creating Magnetism
*How an Electric Motor Works
