Concepts from Unit 9 this week will include:

*Area of a triangle
*Volume of rectangular prisms

READING

Next week, in reading, we will embark on a new genre study, historical fiction.  They will learn about the different characteristics of the genre and choose a historical fiction novel to read in a small book group.

WRITING
This week, students have been busy brainstorming and organizing their ideas for a tall tale into a story map.

Next week, tudents will continue drafting and revising their own tall tale stories.  As they finish, they will bring these stories to publication and later have the opportunity to create an online comic strip based on their tall tale.


SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES
This week's concepts will include:
*Making magnets with electricity
*Testing the strength of an electromagnet
*Making a Motor
